PG Meeting : Tuesday 12th March, 2019 – Meet ‘Geoff Smith’ – The Man from Oz!
An interesting evening awaits us this coming Tuesday and it is hoped that most of our members are able to attend, i.e., both the Photo Group and Movie Makers.
Our Guest Speaker is Geoff Smith “The Man from Oz”. Geoff says that he owes his love of photography to his father Max, who was a keen photographer as a young boy back in the late 1930’s/early 40’s, encouraging Geoff’s interest in his childhood years, helping him with both colour transparency and black & white darkroom work.
Whilst working these days almost exclusively in the digital medium, Geoff says that his grounding in the unforgiving colour transparencies has taught him to take care in order to get things right “in camera” rather than relying on post processing. (This is something that we all should aspire to) !
Geoff has recently expanded his photography into the field of infrared, which has extended his possibilities with his love of black & white, and also aerial landscapes, thanks to the addition of a drone. He has now added two new galleries covering these genres.
Don’t miss this opportunity to gain an insight into someone else’s photographic world and be inspired.
See you all on Tuesday.

MAY COMP SET SUBJECT “GOLD/SILHOUETTE”
Hi Members … Please note that there is an amendment to the requirements covering EDI entries in the set subject competition in May. The information on the Website Calendar was misleading and has now been corrected.
This is entirely my fault and my apologies to anyone who may have started work on their May EDI’s. I am setting out below, the requirements for both Prints and EDI’s for the May competition…
PRINTS : Colour – set subject is ‘GOLD”
PRINTS : Monochrome – set subject is ‘SILHOUETTE”
EDI’s : set subject is “GOLD” … this means that no Monochrome EDI’s will be accepted. ONLY COLOUR EDI’s MUST BE ENTERED !
Should you have any concerns or queries, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
