CoVid 19 causes our planned meeting to be on Zoom this week only!
As you are all aware, Wollongong has now a current CoVid 19 warning and as a result your Committee has decided that the planned meeting for Tuesday 9th February will now be held as an on-line Zoom meeting.
We are disappointed that we will not be able to meet face to face as we had planned but better safe than sorry.
I will email the Zoom link later today to each of you. Looking forward to seeing you all and listening to a great speaker
June Andersen: Nature Photography at 7:30 pm Tuesday 9th February.

Into the Next Year of CoVid 19 Restrictions.
Hi to everyone,
Yes, we have emerged from 12 months of CoVid 19 and the Wollongong Camera Club has survived and has indeed grown in size.
I would like to welcome a new group of members to the Club : Denis Goh, Graham Hamilton, Alletia Hogan, Luke Molloy and Les Schumer.
It will be a pleasure to meet you all, “facemask to facemask”, at our first Photographic Group meeting on Tuesday 9th February at 7:30 pm. We are to listen to an experienced speaker, June Andersen, who hails from the South Coast. Some members are already familiar with her work and this can be seen on her website.
As we are meeting under CoVid 19 restrictions, note that we will be temperature testing and recording attendance of each attendee. Masks will be required to be worn at all times whilst maintaining social distancing. So, please be patience with our Marshals who will be looking after your wellbeing. Full details will be posted on how we are implementing the plan. Seating will be fixed with the 1.5 metre social distancing with a maximum of 36 members allowed in the Hall. There will be no refreshments but you may wish to bring your own. No Name Tags will be given out.
Movement during the meeting is limited and social discussion is not encouraged between members.
There are changes in the Monthly Competition procedures and we will be accepting Mounted Prints again this year for judging on the night. The Print and Digital Image Competition closing time and dates are to be found here
The Competition Rules have been revised and these are to be ratified by members on the 9th February.
Annual General Meeting – 2nd March 2021. 7:30pm

I am sure you are all aware that the AGM will take place on this date and we will all be looking forward to the election of the 2021 Management Committee. Nomination and Proxy forms are available and need to be with the Secretary as per the Constitution.
Each member shall be entitled to appoint another member as proxy by notice given to the Secretary no later than 24 hours before the time of the meeting in respect of which the proxy is appointed.
Nominations of candidates for election to the Management Committee of the Wollongong Camera Club –
(a) Must be made in writing, signed by two (2) members of the Wollongong Camera Club and accompanied by the written consent of the candidate (which may be endorsed on the form of Nomination), in the form set out in the Controlled Document “Nomination For Election To Committee”
(b) Must be delivered to the Secretary of the Wollongong Camera Club not less than 7 days before the date fixed for the holding of the Annual General Meeting at which the election is to take place; and
(c) Must be a financial member of the Wollongong Camera Club
Well, this a bit longer than I wished but now that we are able to meet in the Hall and not Zooming together, I would to thanks the Committee who have been working hard over the break to ensure the Club meetings will met the Government CoVid 19 restrictions and we continue in our School Hall in the knowledge each of us are glad to get back to a more normal life.

Meetings and competitions 2021
The photo group is planning to have meetings and competitions in the hall this year with strict Covid rules and masks.
Our speaker in February is June Andersen, the photographer from Mogo Zoo, talking about Nature photography. The group who went to Mogo last year was so impressed by her that we’ve asked her to talk to everyone.
See you there.

We have 4 extra Tuesdays allocated in 2021 for a Creative SIG. Come to one or (preferably) come to all. I seem to have missed out on inheriting a creative gene but I’m excited at the opportunity to expand my vision.
