What a great night, Karen was able to discuss many aspects of street Photography in a way members could relate too.

The difference between Photo Journalism  and street photography was explained by Karen in her own special way, the photographs were self explanatory and as discussed raised the profile of how we should look at the common aspects of everyday scenes. The prudent selection of camera and the focal length of lens used really enables the photographer to get in close with their subjects so much so ,they need not even know they are the subjects. The actual equipment used for these images was shown by Karen to members.  You do not necessarily get a good picture because one uses the most expensive camera and lens. It all depends on framing and timing as the key aspects of street photography and being able to create images of/at a decisive or poignant moment.

Thanks Karen for an enjoyable evening. and Tim Porteous  for the photographs.
