A great opportunity to capture some images for the July 23rd set subject competition titled “First Light”.
Please note that this outing is classified as a “Club Outing” and you will be required to sign the Club’s official “Attendance Form” prior to setting off on your adventure. Thank you !
- It is planned to demonstrate, both in presentation and practically, how the Monthly Competition Option C (No replacement judge especially for Prints) works. It is planned to explain this, the circumstances and how the Members’ Voting works, the Spreadsheet for results. It is also hoped that members will take the time to assess the Prints on display with their comments. A self-critiquing and Print judging process.
- The Introduction of the new MPC Monthly Competition System especially the Member Entry Process.
- Club’s 75th Anniversary up-date
- 75th Anniversary Dinner at Old Court House on Tue.30th April is being planned for members & their husbands/wives/partners.
- AGM – Tuesday 19th March. Nomination forms at front desk for anyone wishing to stand for election. All positions on the Committee will be vacant.
- Proposal from Wollongong Library for History Week 31st August to 8th September 2019. Subject : Memory and Landscapes”
- Club outings 17th February “Architecture” photography in Sydney and Wednesday 22nd to Friday 24th May “Wallaga Lake” staying at Wallaga Lake Caravan Park. Liaise with Ruth Brooks if interested. Please note that the outing on 17th February is yet to be confirmed as no definite commitments have been received from members. Wallace Lake is a confirmed Club outing.
Those members submitting images for the Club’s 75th are requested to have them ready for collection tonight, please.

Monday 1st April will be the day we set up at the Wollongong Art Gallery in preparation for the opening night on Friday 5th April. Print will be hung and Video/Technology Display will be set up.
The Club’s 75th Birthday celebrations will be by way of an Exhibition of member’s work (both archival and present) which will be displayed at Wollongong Art Gallery, Burelli Street, Wollongong.
The evening commences at 6.30 pm., with the Exhibition being opened by Lord Mayor Gordon Bradbury. Doors will be open from 6.00 pm.
Wine and Cheese will be served whilst you wander around the Exhibition viewing the Video/Technology Display and photography display.
Distinguished Photographer Leanne Alessi’s topic for the evening is “Hallmarks of a Great Image” and “Evolution of Photography” (last 75 years). Leanne is a digital photographer with no background experience in the darkroom environment.
Steen Barnes local Photographer will talk about photography capturing both landscapes and seascapes in the Illawarra.

The Set Subject for EDI’s is “GOLD” – Note : Only Colour EDI’s should be entered. Monochrome EDI’s will not be accepted.
Programme …
12.30 pm – meet at Wollongong Railway Station for 12.40 pm Train
2.30 pm – Milson’s Point Station – commence photo shoot
3.30 pm – Catch train to Circular Quay & continue photo shoot
4.00 pm – Walk to Botanic Gardens for sunset shoot
5.30 pm – Start shooting “Vivid”
Dinner somewhere in-between
Train home when everyone has had enough.
