The 4 Nations competition is between the Societies of Australian Photographic Society

and each image was entered into one of four categories;

Open Colour 35 Images
Every year the competition host is rotated among the four societies, this year Australia hosted. The competition was conducted using MyPhotoclub online software, a huge thank you to Colin Woods for his sponsorship of this competition. The judges all remarked upon the ease of using this software.
Our Jury Panel was comprised of international judges with excellent qualifications and experience in judging National and International Competitions. They are themselves current international competitors who have each achieved high international distinctions from worldwide organisations.
The award selections were viewed and discussed by the jury panel via a zoom meeting.
- AWARDS

3 x HONOURABLE MENTIONS for each section
Digital Award Certificates will be emailed to the winners.
To maintain the spirit of this competition being a TEAM event (and not an

THANK YOU to everyone who submitted images directly by email and to those who entered the 2019 APS National from which APS Member images automatically go into the running for selection. CONGRATULATIONS to you all!

Next Everyone Competition
Capture a view from a window. The window can be from home or any location and not necessarily recent/lockdown related
There is one entry per person and you are asked to provide a contextual comment about the image. The scorer will be able to read the comment when scoring this image.
The subject is inspired by the NSW Art Gallery – From my window exhibition. As will all competitions on this site, entry, and scoring is open to all members of clubs using MyPhotoClub.
Colin would appreciate feedback on this concept and suggestions for topics.

A message from The President
![](https://wollongong.myphotoclub.com.au/wp-content/uploads/sites/80/2020/04/SnapShot6-1024x576.jpg)
Well, we have achieved a first for the Club, a virtual Club meeting with 37 members with the youngest member to the oldest all online. I must thank the Presenters and all members for their willingness to join in this special event. With the help of Tim Porteous, Geoff Gray and John Devenish who worked in the background for the last 3 weeks, I was so proud to be the President and enjoyed the company of all the members whom I know missed the social aspects of the Camera Club meetings. This we will make up with a coffee and Chat hour in the near future. Copies of the presentations are available to members upon request via WeTransfer .

Latest Club Update April Meetings
Welcome
to all of our members on this update to
the Coronavirus/COVID-19 virus and
how it is affecting our Club activities.
Your committee
has been active and things are progressing on the next
3 months program for the club.
The
newly formed committee aided by other senior members have been
successful in using the video conference software called Zoom.
We will be using this method of communication in order to keep
us together on Tuesday nights.
Firstly,
the point score competitions will continue,
The only changes will be for print workers with early closure of the entry times each month and no prints will required until the crisis is finished. Hopefully in the next 3 to 6 months.
The
Judges will also have their biographies available to you prior to the
competition and we have asked for comments to be recorded online if
possible for all your entries.
We also hope that more
members will review each entry after the competition is
published and add comments where possible.
The 2nd
Tuesday of the month presentation of meetings will to be held online,
The
presentation meetings are to be held using the Zoom portal on Chrome.
A help page will be published to help you manage your Zoom meeting at
home.
Here the presenters will be live with you and
present their talks sharing the images on Zoom. You can also chat
with them during the present presentation.
You will
need to have installed zoom on your PC laptop or iPad you can
also use your smartphone but please be aware of the daily data usage.
We are currently investigating this issue.
To
assist you in enjoying the zoom meetings we will be offering a
few training sessions using your zoom software.
In
order for this to happen there are still a number of
members who have not installed Zoom at home. If you haven’t
already replied to the email sent to you , would you please advise me
and I will resend the email to enable you to join.
The
first meeting to be held will be on the 14th of April and this will
be Presentations by chosen Club members and will start at 7:30 pm
prompt.
I think you will be pleased at the content of these
presentations, as we will learn more what drives photographers to do
what they
can to get good photographs. The session will last as long as is
necessary and feedback on how it has been received by you will
be welcome.
Details of the presentation will be advertised
as soon as arrangements have been completed
This is all work in progress and very new to everybody so I would ask that you accept that there will be the odd hiccup but if we all work together I am sure we can all learn and benefit.
Looking forward to meeting you all soon

Wollongong Camera Club Update
Dear Member
Thank you for the strong support of the Online AGM to which many of you contributed and we are able to confidently look to continuing through 2020 with a new Management team.
Many changes are necessary already the Management team has had its first Zoom meeting today where the first discussions were held, many items discussed but the immediate ones are finalised.
- All Competitions are to be online judged utilising the MPC system with the currently booked judges. This does pose some issues and I am sure you will be pleased to hear that the requirement to actually produce a mounted image for each Print category is not necessary until further notice .
- However, the requirements for the Print of the Year 2020 are, that you are still required to enter a mounted image for each Print Category for judging at the end of the year. The actual points scoring regime will remain the same for the whole year.
- Monthly Competition Entry Closing Dates; April 2020 Onwards.
- Both the Digital and Print Entry Closing Date is 2nd Tuesday of the Month at 11:45pm (23:45Hrs). Please plan wisely
- Online Image Comments. The Management Team would like to encourage you to add comments to the members’ entries in the competitions after they are published.
- Movie Makers. It looks like online meetings will take place and with some interaction with other Movie Clubs in NSW. More details to follow.
- Printers. If you are a printer of your own images please be sure to maintain the requirement of printers to have an image printed regularly to stop print head blocking.
What is the Future?
The Club’s 2020 Calendar will be updated in various stages. As the Club contacts the various Presenters, this advice will be advised via the calendar/posts/emails. Please make use of the Calendar to view all Activity status.
Your Management Team are on top of this and eagerly looking to giving all members the opportunity to keep the club fellowship relationships going into the future.
We are in a very lucky country and it is hoped that this event will only make the Club stronger for another 75 years and more. Keep safe.
Thanks
Brian Harvey, President
