The Wollongong Camera Club will not be having its usual Guest Speaker in May 2024. Instead, Camera Club Members and Guests are invited to a personally guided tour of the ‘The Shots’ Exhibition held by the State Library of NSW, Sydney.
Come and see 400 photographs, 200 photographers over 3 centuries with a private tour, given by Geoffrey Barker, Senior Curator, Collection, Acquisition and Curation. For those who are interested in staying on, there will be an informal Q & A session in the Library Bar after the tour.

An interesting evening where Sue Curtis, Sue Souter and Les Schumer get together to share their knowledge and mesmerise us with their exciting stories and beautiful images taken on recent travel adventures.
Both Sue Curtis and Les will bring along their underwater Cameras for a show and tell segment.

Samuel is a self-taught landscape and wilderness Photographer from the South Coast.
Samuel says .. ” Photography entered his life in 2011, transforming the way he perceives the world and instilling in him a profound gratitude for nature’s intricate details that he once overlooked ” …
Samuel will be presenting on Landscape Photography Composition which will cover a range of different compositional techniques that he uses when framing landscape images. His techniques range from basic to advanced.
Samuel will also briefly talk about his own photographic journey and his experience covering the ” 2019/2020 Black Summer Bushfires” and his work with Australian Geographic.
Samuel runs photographic workshops and at the conclusion of his presentation will give us a brief outline of his landscape photography workshops.

Our Club will be represented at the Illawarra Family History and Heritage Fair to celebrate Family History month in August and the diversity of cultural heritage in the Illawarra.
This Fair is being hosted by the Illawarra Family History Group Inc.
There will be representatives from many historical and heritage groups.
Note : “Heritage includes places, values, traditions, events and experiences that capture where we’ve come from, where we are now and gives context to where we are headed as a community”.
